As a coach, you control what your clients see through the App Experience tab in your dashboard. You can also preview the Client Portal exactly as they’ll see it, right from your client page.

The Client Portal is a desktop web experience that mirrors the mobile app. It allows clients to view their meal plan and grocery list, access recipes, track progress, and chat with you β€” all from their computer.

Your App Experience settings automatically apply to both the app and portal, keeping your coaching experience consistent across devices.


πŸ”‘ Who Can Access the Client Portal?

The Client Portal is available to active clients of coaches on the Professional plan or higher.

To give your clients access:

  1. Make sure your client has set up their account in the Foodzilla mobile app.
  2. From your dashboard, open the three-dots menu next to their name.
  3. Select β€œSend Portal Invitation”

Once invited, clients can log in from desktop using their Foodzilla credentials.

You can easily preview your client’s desktop portal to see exactly what they see:

  1. Go to your Client Page.
  2. Click Client Portal β†’ Preview Client Portal.
  3. Explore the portal view as your client.
  4. Exit anytime using the menu at the bottom of the screen.

βœ… Edit their plan and grocery list (if Co-Planning is enabled)

Clients cannot:

❌ Auto-generate meal plans

❌ Delete, duplicate, or copy meal plans

❌ Export or email meal plans

❌ Create or edit recipes

❌ View RDI (Recommended Daily Intake) info

❌ Control their App Experience

You can adjust your clients’ portal access under Dashboard β†’ App Experience.

From there, toggle what clients can view or edit β€” including meal plan co-planning, recipe visibility, and progress tracking.

1️⃣ Can clients access the portal without using the mobile app?

No β€” clients must first set up their account in the Foodzilla mobile app before they can log in to the Client Portal.

2️⃣ Do updates made by clients in the portal sync with the app?

Yes. All changes made in the Client Portal sync automatically with their mobile app.

3️⃣ How do I remove a client’s portal access?

You can revoke access by removing them from your client list (Archiving or Deleting). Once removed, their access will be disabled on both the mobile app and the portal.

4️⃣ Can I customize what clients see in the portal?

Yes β€” use the App Experience tab to control visibility and permissions, including co-planning, recipe access, chat and more.

5️⃣ Why can’t my client see the portal link?

Ensure you’ve invited them via three-dots menu β†’ Send Portal Invitation, and that they’ve already logged in to the mobile app once.

7️⃣ Can I add my own branding to the Client Portal?
