Create New Foods and Ingredients
If you're looking for an ingredient or food that isn't already in our database, this tutorial will guide you through creating a new ingredient and using it in a recipe.

Navigate to the "Food Data" Tab
- Click on the "Food Data" tab.

Select "Create Food" at the top right corner.
Enter Nutrition Data
- Fill in the following fields to create a new ingredient:
- Name
- Total Energy
- Total Protein (g)
- Total Carbohydrates (g)
- Total Fat (g)
Note: Ensure all data is based on a 100 grams measurement to maintain accurate nutrition calculations in recipes.

Create the New Food
- Click "Create Food" to save the new ingredient.

Finding Your New Foods and Ingredients
- All new ingredients you create are stored in a separate database collection accessible only to your team and clients.
- New ingredients will be available in the "Food Databases" tab and the "Add Ingredients" section on the Create Custom Recipe page.
Using Your New Ingredients
- Add to Recipes
- When adding ingredients to your custom recipe, select your company name (e.g., "Foodzilla") from the ingredient database list.
- Start searching for your new ingredient.
Example: After creating an ingredient called "chicken drums," you can find it by searching in the Food Data tab and selecting "your company name" from the database list. Easy as that!
