How Do I Bulk Import Recipes Into Foodzilla?

Foodzilla supports bulk recipe imports using a CSV file, making it easier to add multiple recipes at once.

Download the CSV Template

  1. Go to the Recipes page
  2. Click Import
  3. Download the official CSV template

The template includes the required columns and formatting for a successful bulk recipe import.

Recipe Information

The CSV template supports:

• Recipe title

• Ingredients

• Servings

• Preparation and cooking time

• Cooking instructions

• Description and cooking tips

• Recipe author and website

• Meal category under Suitable For

• Diet and health labels

• Nutrition values, including calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat, fibre, sodium, and total weight

Can Recipes Be Imported in Another Language?

Yes. Recipe titles, instructions, descriptions, notes, and other text fields can be imported in any language. Clients will see the recipe text exactly as it appears in the CSV.

Important: Ingredient Matching and Auto Generation

Bulk CSV imports skip ingredient matching.

Recipes are imported using the ingredient text and nutrition values already included in the CSV. Because the ingredients are not matched to the Foodzilla food database, these recipes cannot be used by the meal plan auto generator.

To create imported recipes that work with the auto generator, import them individually using:

Paste Text

These methods automatically match ingredients with the Foodzilla database and calculate nutrition from the matched foods.

Before Importing

Check that:

• All required columns are completed

• Ingredient quantities and units are clear

• Nutrition values are included where needed

• The CSV structure has not been changed

• Each recipe follows the format in the official template
