What Recipe Databases Are Available in Foodzilla?

Foodzilla offers two types of recipe databases: Dietitian-Approved Recipes and Online Recipes.

Dietitian-Approved Recipes

These recipes are created or reviewed by nutrition professionals using ingredients from trusted food composition databases, such as:

  • New Zealand: Food Composition DB - FSANZ
  • United Kingdom: CoFiD
  • Australia: Food Composition DB - FSANZ
  • United States: USDA and Branded Products
  • Canada - CNF
  • Portugal - TCA

They are designed for professional use when building meal plans for clients.

Note: Please note that Dietitian Approved Recipes can be used with your clients but should not be republished publicly online.

Online Recipes

Our online recipes database includes over 1 million publicly available recipes from the internet. Each recipe includes a link to the original source for additional information and cooking instructions.

  • Nutrition Information: Calculated based on the ingredients and their quantities using the USDA food composition database.

Note: Dietitian Approved Recipes are generally best for practitioners looking for professionally prepared nutrition content, while Online Recipes provide a wider range of meal ideas and cuisines.

By leveraging these recipe databases, you can provide accurate and varied nutritional options for your clients, ensuring both credibility and compliance. 🙌
